Walking In Your Destiny
Jeremiah 29:11-13 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD,
thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Then shall you call upon me, and you shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And you shall seek me, and find me, when you shall search for me with all your heart.
Enemies of Destiny: Our Plan, Overriding God's Plan
God has a plan and a destiny for our life, but our plan can get in the way of His plan.
Our plan can sound so good, and we can even convince many to follow us down that
road. The problem comes when we find out; we can't convince God to follow us.
Many are frustrated in the body of Christ, because they have lost the joy of serving their heavenly Father.
They woke up one day and suddenly realized that they missed a turn in Gods plan for them. Instead of going the direction God was leading, they followed the path of least resistance. They bowed to popular opinion; they succumbed to the latest fade,
or went with the majority even when it felt like they were leaving the plan of God.
Many great men of God have found themselves in this place of frustration. King David took several wrong turns, but his heart of repentance toward God got him back on track. Peter denied he even knew Jesus, but we serve a God of restoration. A man that has not taken a wrong turn is a man that has never stepped out for God. If you have served God any length of time you know that what I am saying is true. Great men know how to humble themselves when they have gotten out of the will of God. They look up to heaven and cry for correction, they admit their mistake and watch God move them into His will.
“The low way is your way, the Highway is Gods Way”.
Fear of Failure
It took me five years to write my first book. I had the fear of failure!
What if people don’t buy it? What if people don’t agree with it? What if I can’t get it published? What made me so smart, that I think others will benefit from my writing? Satan was sitting on my shoulder and stealing my destiny. God had called me to write this book, God had put the words in my belly, and Satan was doing his very best to abort the plan of God. One day God ask me a
question, “Who is writing this book, you or me”? I realized that it is not I, but Christ that lives in me! My fear came from leaning on my own understanding and not trusting God enough. If I wrote the book I was in
trouble, but if God wrote the book through me I would be alright. God and I completed the book, and many
lives have been touched by the words found within its pages, “Glory Be To God”.
Past
Failures
So many people are looking into their rearview mirror, and missing their destiny. They don’t know where they are going because they are too busy beating themselves up over past failures. Anytime there is a gleam of hope, they destroy it
by looking back. “Remember the last time I stepped out”! “Remember the last time I trusted somebody”. “I didn’t graduate”.
“I am not ordained”. I finished last in my class”.
The rearview mirror is full of reasons why God would never use us, but that is a lie from hell! God is God, because He makes the crooked road straight. God takes our mess and makes a message out of it.
God takes our brokenness and forms a masterpiece out of it.
Destiny must be birthed in Gods presence:
You will not find your destiny in the soulish realm.
1 Corinthians 2:14 But the natural man receives not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are
foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are
spiritually discerned.
Making decisions in the natural is like looking for a needle in a hay stack: Your life is now based on luck and chance, rather
than divine guidance! Now we are left with rolling the dice and hoping we don't hit snake eyes.
We are fighting an enemy that we can't see with our natural eye, but God can. In the natural
we will punch ourselves silly, trying to defeat something we cannot see in the natural.
God has prepared things
for us that will not be attained by natural means!
1 Corinthians 2:9-13
But as it is written, Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God has prepared for them that love him. But God has revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searches all things, yea, the deep things of God. For what man knows the things of a man, except the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knows no man, but the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teaches, but which the Holy Spirit teaches; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

Romans 8:5-8
For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
Romans 8:14
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
It is possible to be out of the spirit on the Lords day! John received revelation as he was caught up in the spirit!
Revelation 1:9-11
I John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ. I was in the Spirit on
the Lord's day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet, Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What you see, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamum, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea.
John could not stand in His presence! Your problems can not stand in His presence! Everything must
bow to Him! Sickness, poverty, addiction, doubt, fear, disappoint etc..
Revelation 1:17
And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me,
saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last:
God has a destiny for each one of us, His way will bear much fruit,
His way will reveal the greatness God has placed on the inside of you!
BEING LED BY THE SPIRIT
I remember Joyce Meyers saying one time, I was not led by the Spirit in my early years of ministry; God had to drag me.
We form habits before we are saved, that are hard to break. We are used to making our own decisions and calling our own shots. When we get saved and we are told that the children of God are led by the Spirit of God. Rom 8:14 This can be quite an adjustment from our former days.
One of the greatest days of my
life, was the day I looked up to heaven and made this statement,
"I HAVE RUN MY OWN LIFE FOR 27 YEARS, AND I AM READY TO SEE IF YOU CAN DO ANY
BETTER THAN I HAVE DONE". God took me up on my offer and I am glad He did!
We can surrender in one area of our life and refuse to yield in another. I was doing pretty good when it came to my personal life, but I was trying to drive the ministry in my own strength and knowledge. I would come up with a plan and expect God to help me pull it off. I found out quick, that unless the Lord builds the house we labor in vain.
That is why we birth so many ishmaels, and do not see Gods promise come to pass. His promise is sure but it takes more time. His promise is
true but it takes more trust in Him, and less trust in you. His promise is ordained and when He does it,
instead of you; He will get the glory instead of you.
Jesus said follow me and I will make you fishers of men. Mat. 4:19
When we are led, we have a promise that we will bear fruit. When we are led we will be productive,
and we will be about the Fathers business. We will be busy with His affairs, instead of our own.
Being led is quite easy! You follow Gods orders, instead of telling God what you are going to do.
Jesus said He did not do His own will, but He did the will of His Father in Heaven.
This lifestyle will cost you more time on your knees, but in the long run it will save you from
wasting many years doing dead works. God is a lot better pilot, than a copilot!

HEARING THE
VOICE OF GOD
Have you ever wondered if what you heard was from God?
Or was it your thought; or was it a thought from satan.
If we were all honest, we would admit that discerning the voice of God can be at the least, a challenge. I am not going to tell you that I have
mastered the art of hearing the voice of God, but over the years I have learned some principles that have helped.
Relationship.... When you hang around someone, you become familiar with their voice.
You can be in one room and this person can be in the other and you will know it is
them. You can be thousands of miles away and pick up a telephone; when the
other party answers; if you have spent time with them you will know it is them.
I know you are thinking what about Peter; he confronted Jesus and thought he
was helping, only to get rebuked. Satan has a way of making you think it is
your idea and we must line up every thought with the Word of God...
Matthew
16:23 But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get you
behind me, Satan: you are an offense unto me: for you consider not
the things that be of God, but those that be of men.
Follow the Anointing.
There is no substitute for understanding the anointing. God told me not to follow my wallet, but to follow the anointing. Paul knew he
was to go to Rome when all his comrades advised against it. As you spend time in Gods presence His anointing will saturate your
being. You will know in your knower what you must do. When I need direction I spend time worshipping God, as I worship Him I receive direction through the anointing. We have a promise that the Holy Spirit will show us things to come, get in His presence and get a glimpse of your future...
Isaiah 10:27 And it shall come to pass
in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy
shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck; and the yoke
shall be destroyed because of the anointing....

Matthew

the things that be of God, but those that be of men.
- When a thought comes we must line it up with the personality of God.
His Word reveals His personality.
When we hide His Word in our hearts we shield
ourselves from the lies of the enemy. Any thought that exalts itself against
the knowledge of God must be cast down...
2 Corinthians 10:4-6 (For the weapons of our warfare are not
carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)
Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against
the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the
obedience of Christ; And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience,
when your obedience is fulfilled.
- There is no better teacher than experience.
- As you step out and obey what you feel is the voice of God, time will reveal which voice it really was. God
is not going to kick you out of the kingdom because you miss it. I would rather miss it - doing something in the kingdom of God; than to sit in the fear of missing
God and end up doing nothing. We have this promise we can hold on to...
John 10:27 My sheep hear my
voice, and I know them, and
they follow me:
- Pride goeth before
destruction.
Satan is not stupid and he will use your pride against you. He will offer you
the world and you will eventually feel like the whole world is sitting on your
back. Remember that the Lords yoke is easy and His burdens are light. When it
is Gods voice and it reveals His plan for you, His grace will be sufficient for all your needs... - Proverbs 16:18 Pride goeth before destruction,
and a haughty spirit before a fall.
